Cottage-side fixes done right, with the same crew that builds for our larger clients.
When something on the cottage breaks, you don't need a six-week proposal. You need someone with the right truck, the right parts, and the judgment to fix it once. Our handyman crew handles the carpentry-side repairs that keep a Muskoka property running, and we handle HVAC, electrical, and plumbing under the same contract.
In Port Carling that work looks specific. Port Carling is the centre of the Big Three lakes and the highest-value cottage market in Muskoka. We build and renovate here year-round.
Practically, it means we scope repairs & handyman service around Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka access, the shoreline setbacks that apply to your lot, and a build window that fits the season. Permits and inspections go through the Township of Muskoka Lakes building department in Port Carling, and we file them as part of the contract rather than leaving the paperwork with you.
Carpentry-side repairs are our wheelhouse: stuck doors and windows, rotted trim, loose railings, busted stairs, drywall patching, hardware swaps, dock board replacements, deck repairs, fascia and soffit fixes, exterior trim and weatherboard, fence repairs, and storm or ice damage triage. One truck, a dedicated project manager, parts on board.
Furnaces, panels, fixtures, drain work, ductwork, mini-splits: all handled under one contract with one PM. We don't do emergency dispatch for mechanical, so if a furnace dies in January or a pipe lets go on a long weekend, call your utility or a 24/7 emergency line first. We take over the proper repair after the immediate risk is handled so you still get one invoice and one point of accountability.
For the carpentry-side things that ruin a weekend (a smashed door, a broken stair, storm-damaged dock boards, a sagging gate, a leaking fixture we installed), we run a 48-hour response window May through October across the Muskoka region. Outside peak season we book within the week.
Booked in half-day or full-day blocks. We bring a prioritized list, work top-to-bottom, photograph before and after, and leave a written log so you know exactly what got done and what was deferred.

Yes. Port Carling is inside our regular service area and we run repairs & handyman service projects on Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph through the season. We are based in Muskoka, so site visits, warranty callbacks, and supplier runs do not carry travel surcharges from out of district.
Structural work, additions, most decks, shoreline structures, and new plumbing or electrical need a permit from the Township of Muskoka Lakes building department in Port Carling. Cosmetic finishes usually do not. We confirm the requirement during the site visit and handle the application, drawings, and inspection scheduling under the same contract.
No, not emergency dispatch. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing are handled under one contract: furnace tune-ups, panel work, fixture installs, drain work, mini-splits. For a true mechanical emergency (gas, fire, flooding, no heat in winter), call your utility, the fire department, or a 24/7 emergency service first. We take over the proper repair after.
Send us the project details and we book a site walk in Port Carling, take measurements and photos, then send a fixed-price written proposal with the scope, allowances, and payment schedule laid out line by line. There is no charge for the visit or the quote.
Yes. Port Carling sits in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, and waterfront projects here often involve shoreline setbacks, site-plan review, and coordination with the district. We build that approval time into the schedule up front.
We build and rebuild the structures around the water: stone stairs, retaining walls, decks, landings, and boathouse-adjacent masonry, with the approvals the work requires.

Walk the site with us. We follow up with a fixed-price proposal, usually within two weeks.

What we check every spring when opening Muskoka cottages: frost heave, roof damage, foundation cracks, shoreline shifts, and plumbing before turning the water back on.

An existing Muskoka boathouse is often more valuable than a permit for a new one. Repair, rebuild, or something in between: here is how we assess it.
