Yes. Windermere has some of the oldest continuously owned cottages on Lake Rosseau, and much of our work here is careful renovation and addition work on properties that have been in the same family for generations.
Who issues permits for Windermere projects?+
The Township of Muskoka Lakes building department, with district and shoreline review where the work sits near the water.
Can you match original millwork and detailing?+
We do it regularly: matching trim profiles, board widths, and stain colours so an addition reads as original rather than bolted on.
Do you build boathouse-area stonework and stairs?+
Yes. Stone stairs down to the water, landings, retaining walls, and terraces built for the freeze-thaw cycle rather than for a photo in year one.
How disruptive is a renovation during cottage season?+
Where possible we schedule the noisy structural phase for the off-season and keep summer work to interior finishing. If the family will be on site we agree quiet hours and access routes before we start.
