Two-storey boathouses and crib docks permitted to MNRF standards.
Boathouses and docks are the most regulated structures on the lake. We design, permit, and build single and two-storey boathouses, crib docks, and floating docks across Muskoka.
In Georgian Bay that work looks specific. Georgian Bay sites bring their own challenges: barge access, exposed shoreline, and granite that won't take a standard footing. We've built the marine logistics into our process.
Practically, it means we scope boathouses & docks around Georgian Bay, Go Home Bay, Honey Harbour access, the shoreline setbacks that apply to your lot, and a build window that fits the season. Permits and inspections go through the Township of Georgian Bay building department, and we file them as part of the contract rather than leaving the paperwork with you.
Boathouses live or die at the application stage. We start every project with a footprint review, zoning check, and MNRF/DFO assessment before any design work begins.
Crib docks for permanence on protected lakes. Pile docks for faster install and lower lake-bed impact. Floating docks for severe ice or shifting water levels. Each chosen for the specific lake and bottom.
Barge staging, in-water work windows, marine concrete pours, and coordinated lift, boat, and slip installs. We've worked every Muskoka lake and most of Georgian Bay.
Two-storey boathouse second levels finished to cottage standards: insulated, plumbed, wired for full-service guest accommodation where zoning permits.

Yes. Georgian Bay is inside our regular service area and we run boathouses & docks projects on Georgian Bay and Go Home Bay through the season. We are based in Muskoka, so site visits, warranty callbacks, and supplier runs do not carry travel surcharges from out of district.
Structural work, additions, most decks, shoreline structures, and new plumbing or electrical need a permit from the Township of Georgian Bay building department. Cosmetic finishes usually do not. We confirm the requirement during the site visit and handle the application, drawings, and inspection scheduling under the same contract.
Often, yes, but rules vary by lake and township. Most builds are replacements or expansions of existing footprints.
Send us the project details and we book a site walk in Georgian Bay, take measurements and photos, then send a fixed-price written proposal with the scope, allowances, and payment schedule laid out line by line. There is no charge for the visit or the quote.
Yes. Exposed Canadian Shield rock, wind loading, and water access make Georgian Bay builds different from inland lakes, and we detail the envelope and anchoring for that exposure.

Walk the site with us. We follow up with a fixed-price proposal, usually within two weeks.
