Lot clearing, stump removal, and precise grading that gets water moving the right way.
Clearing and grading in Huntsville splits into two very different jobs. On a new lot off Muskoka Road 3 or up toward Port Sydney you are opening a building envelope in mature bush and deciding which pines stay. On an established property in town you are usually fixing grade: water sitting against a foundation, a lawn that never dries out, a driveway pitched back toward the garage.
Both come back to drainage. The Town of Huntsville has site alteration rules, and shoreline properties on Fairy, Peninsula, and Mary Lakes have buffer requirements that limit what can be cleared near the water. We confirm what applies to your lot before a single tree comes down.
Because we are based here, we can walk a Huntsville property on short notice, flag the envelope with you, and come back with a fixed scope rather than a per-acre guess.
Accessible ground, small material, brush chipped or piled.
Mature trees, stumps and organics out, material handled or hauled.
Topsoil, shaping, and a real outlet for the water.
Ranges, not quotes. Every project gets a fixed-scope written estimate after a site visit.
On a Muskoka lot, the trees you keep matter as much as the ones you take. We flag the envelope with you before anything is cut, protect root zones on the trees that stay, and keep the natural buffer along the shoreline where the township requires it.
Nearly every wet basement and soft driveway we get called to is a grading problem. Positive slope away from the building, cut swales that go somewhere, and low spots filled rather than seeded over.
Building on buried organics is how a pad settles two years later. Stumps and organic material get removed from the footprint, and the pad gets built back with engineered fill compacted in lifts.
Whether the next step is footings, sod, a driveway, or a landscape crew, we finish to the elevation and tolerance that step actually needs, and hand off a pad or yard you can build on.

Possibly. The Town of Huntsville has site alteration provisions, and shoreline buffers apply near Fairy Lake, Peninsula Lake, and Mary Lake. Work in a regulated area can also need conservation authority review. We check before anything is cut.
In most cases yes. The usual causes are negative slope at the foundation, a flat yard with no outlet, and roof water dumped at the wall. Regrading with a real outlet, sometimes with a swale or drain added, solves it permanently.
Usable wood can be bucked and stacked for you, brush is chipped or piled for disposal, and stumps go off site or well outside any future building or driveway area.
Two days to two weeks for most residential lots, depending on size, tree cover, rock, and how far material has to be moved.
Year-round. Huntsville has a strong four-season community, and we run interior renovations and new-build framing through the winter with the right protection in place. Only certain exterior masonry and concrete pours get seasonal scheduling.
Peninsula Lake, Fairy Lake, Mary Lake, Vernon Lake, and the north end of Lake of Bays, including properties out toward Hidden Valley and the Algonquin Park corridor.
