Floor-to-ceiling fieldstone hearths designed as the room's centerpiece.
A Muskoka great room lives or dies by its fireplace. We design and build wood-burning and gas hearths in fieldstone, granite, and reclaimed timber surrounds.
In Muskoka Lakes that work looks specific. The Township of Muskoka Lakes covers Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, and most of Lake Muskoka's western shore, including the iconic communities of Port Carling, Windermere, and Bala.
Practically, it means we scope fireplaces around Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka access, the shoreline setbacks that apply to your lot, and a build window that fits the season. Permits and inspections go through the Township of Muskoka Lakes building department, and we file them as part of the contract rather than leaving the paperwork with you.
Every great-room design starts at the hearth. We size, scale, and proportion the fireplace to the room volume so it reads as the focal point from the front door.
EPA-certified wood inserts for the cottage-classic answer, sealed-combustion gas for instant convenience, or both in a primary/secondary configuration.
Floor-to-ceiling fieldstone, granite veneer, or honed stone surrounds set by our masons over multiple days for a true hand-built look.
Engineered flue chase, code clearances, fireproofing, and load-rated mantels. WETT certification provided so insurance and resale never become an issue.

Yes. Muskoka Lakes is inside our regular service area and we run fireplaces projects on Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph through the season. We are based in Muskoka, so site visits, warranty callbacks, and supplier runs do not carry travel surcharges from out of district.
Structural work, additions, most decks, shoreline structures, and new plumbing or electrical need a permit from the Township of Muskoka Lakes building department. Cosmetic finishes usually do not. We confirm the requirement during the site visit and handle the application, drawings, and inspection scheduling under the same contract.
Both work. Wood is the cottage-classic answer, gas is unbeatable for weekend convenience and cold months.
Send us the project details and we book a site walk in Muskoka Lakes, take measurements and photos, then send a fixed-price written proposal with the scope, allowances, and payment schedule laid out line by line. There is no charge for the visit or the quote.
All three, plus the smaller lakes in the township. A large share of our new builds and high-end renovations are on the Big Three shorelines.
The Township of Muskoka Lakes building department. Waterfront properties frequently trigger additional shoreline and site-plan review, so we build that review time into the schedule instead of promising a start date we cannot hold.

Walk the site with us. We follow up with a fixed-price proposal, usually within two weeks.
